Amelia Thompson was born in Long Beach and is a graduate of the USC Thornton School of Music where she studied choral music. As a choral accompanist, she has had the pleasure of working with the National Children's Chorus, Long Beach Camerata Singers, Youth Chorus LA, and the Pasadena Conservatory of Music. In 2023 she made her solo debut at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Disney PRIDE with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) where she holds the Principal Accompanist position. At present, Miss Thompson is the accompanist at Renaissance High School of the Arts in Long Beach, pianist at First Church of Christ, Scientist in Beverly Hills and sings 1st Soprano with the Pacific Chorale in Orange County. In addition to her musical endeavors, Miss Thompson is an experienced Polynesian dancer currently studying at Hālau Hula Ke 'Alohi 'O Ilikai under the tutelage of Kumu Hula Kapinao'kēhaulani Gabriel.
Taumata Grey is a founding member and guitarist of the chart-topping pop-reggae band Common Kings. Born in American Samoa and raised in Orange County, California, Taumata blends his deep Pacific Islander roots with a passion for music that resonates around the world. He met his bandmates while attending Orange Coast College, and together they launched Common Kings in 2011 — a journey that would lead to a Grammy nomination for their debut album Lost in Paradise and international tours alongside artists like Justin Timberlake and Fifth Harmony.
As an advisor to Pasifika Music Academy, Taumata brings invaluable insight into the modern music industry, cultural authenticity, and the importance of representation. His presence reminds our students that staying rooted in identity can lead to powerful, world-reaching artistry.
Vaea A’etonu is a celebrated Samoan guitarist, composer, and cultural artist whose work spans over a decade in entertainment and music, including creative contributions to Disney. Known for his soulful guitar work and deep cultural grounding, Vaea has performed with artists like Fiji, Tenelle, and Pati, and currently tours with the Polynesian trio FAIVA. A self-taught musician rooted in American Samoa, he blends jazz, reggae, R&B, rock, and traditional Polynesian music into a signature sound that honors his heritage. Vaea remains a powerful force in the Southern California Pacific Islander arts community, committed to preserving and uplifting the voices of Oceania through music and storytelling.
Anthony Kauka Stanley is a lifelong ambassador of Polynesian culture, music, and education. Raised in the legacy of Heali’i’s Polynesian Revue — his family’s renowned halau — Anthony began playing ʻukulele at age two and has since become a respected performer, educator, and cultural leader. As Music and Drum Director at Heali’i’s, and a touring musician alongside partner Keahi Rozet, he brings traditional island music to stages and classrooms around the world. Anthony’s passion lies in preserving cultural authenticity while building bridges through music, inspiring youth and community alike. He also serves as a teaching artist with the Center for World Music and continues to collaborate with leading arts institutions like the San Diego Symphony and LA Philharmonic.
Ryan Kalama is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, producer, and educator whose lifelong passion for music and performance began at just six years old. As half of the Kalama Brothers, Ryan has performed across the country, released two albums, and shared the stage with Hawaiian music legends, including his mentor Uncle Willie K. With over 15 years of experience teaching music to children and families, Ryan has become a beloved educator known for his energy, creativity, and heart.
From early childhood music classes to freestyle rap sessions through his interactive “Freestyle Friday” series, Ryan’s work uplifts, entertains, and empowers. He brings a joyful, inclusive approach to every space he enters — always promoting peace, love, and positivity. Ryan lives in Orange County with his wife and two sons, continuing to inspire audiences of all ages through music and self-expression.
